Can you contract Hepatitis C by reusing your own needle, not sharing?

I know you can get Hep C from sharing needles, like if you use a needle from someone who had it, because there could be blood transfer. But someone recently told me that if you use a syringe to inject drugs and then a small amount of your own blood remains in the needle and at some point later you reuse the syringe that somehow that blood that remained in the needle can become infected with Hep C and if you inject drugs with the syringe again you can contract Hep C that way. Sounds a little crazy to me but I was curious. Any help is appreciated.

no you cant.

the virus is not going to miraculously appear in the blood from no where. either the blood or the needle has to be contaminated.

very unlikely unless someone pours their blood on your syringe. reusing a syringe is just a bad idea in the first place. it gets dirty then you introduce the bacteria straight into your blood. you can get nasty infections including endocarditis. endocarditis is an infection on the vavles of the heart and that is going to put you straight in the hospital. = very very sick

No, because the virus would have to be on it, and since you didn't previously have it, no.
Although you can get other infections. There can be lots of bacteria on that needle, anything from a small infection to staph, cellulitis, or worse.

Blood doesn't somehow magically become infected with hep C. Whoever told you that your own blood could become infected is sadly misguided. Try asking them how the infection takes place and what is the source of the virus.

Nope
