Does hepatitis c causes pancreatitis?

The two most common causes for pancreatitis are gallstones and alcohol abuse.

And gallstones are associated with having cirrhosis.....and cirrhosis can be caused by Hepatitis C.

Several different viruses, including the Hepatitis B virus have been linked to pancreatitis. However, there is at present no confirmed connection between hepatitis C infection and pancreatitis.

One more thing.....Hepatitis C treatment CAN cause pancreatitis.

Hepatitis C is caused by a virus that carries that same name. Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas.

If the liver were damaged significantly I can see how it could effect the pancreas, but I don't believe that the actual disease of hepatitis C causes pancreatitis.
Any significant liver or biliary disease could have a secondary effect on the pancreas. To answer your question NO hepatitis C damages the liver, not the pancreas.
