Hepatitis C and Liver Function Tests?

I am 20 years old and was suffered from jaundice 25 days ago and for this my doctor advised me to have a test for the following immediately,

LFTs
HAV Igm
HEV Igm
Anti HCV
ANTI HEV
HBs Ag

Initially I have gone through with LFTs on which i was shocked to see my values.. my Bilirubin was 5.2, ALT was 2860 whereas AST was 2650..

After then I took a complete bed rest for about 15 days and ate foods with low fats and higher quantity of carbohydrates.
After 15 days I again have tested my LFTs and another test ANTI HCV(Elisa).

I was again shock to see that ANTI HCV was positive in that report whereas the Values of LFTs were following

BILIRUBIN: 2.8
ALT: 187
AST: 49
GLOBULINS: 3.7 (slight above Normal)

Now i want to know whether there are any chances of HCV in my body or this report is false-positive or what??
My liver enzymes are quite improved then it was is early jaundice.
I need to know what is actually i am suffering from.. I did not tested any other Hep Yet

I would definatly get a hepatitis C test..those are some high liver functions..your alt's and asts'

Many years ago I had hep C. My liver functions are normal. There was no permanent damage to my liver. So you could have HVC or be getting over it. You will be positive for the antibodies for the rest of your life.

20 percent of people that contract it fight it and get rid of it. the rest have to fight for themselves through treatment.

When you first get hepatitis, (A, B or C)your liver enzymes will be very high and you may get jaundiced. Then after a few weeks, the jaundice goes away and the liver enzymes go down. But you may still have the virus.
That's called an ACUTE infection. It sounds like that's what happened to you.

During the next six months, your body may be able to clear the virus on its own. If it doesn't, then you will have a CHRONIC infection.

I suggest that you get tested for the other different types of hepatitis like your doctor suggested. Because the Hepatitis C infection may be old and you may have just gotten a different kind.
