Hepatitis B information , can anybody help ? |
I am trying to find some information on Hepatitis B which is directed for young people and kids. It needs to include information relating to a past hep b infection and that if you have cleared the virus you can not pass it on to others. I am working with a child who is getting bullied because of this . All the information I find is very medically focused or not written with the young person in mind. thanks for the answers. A bit more information . This link provides basic information and links to other sources, though no necessarily aimed at young folk: I'm glad to have been of help. I hope you find it useful in the future for your work. You can pass on hep B if you have it- not something you can get rid of. You can also just be a carrier. If you are exposed to blood and get the immunoglobulin this can help reduce your chances of getting it if you don't have a positive antibody titer (immunity). Well, my husband has hep c and we have been to many hepatitis class that include A, B, and C. Hep B can be transmitted through bodily fluids, sex, tattoos, and piercings. There is a vaccine for it. It normally does not require treatment and will go away in time. Once in awhile there are cases that do need treatment. After the disease is cleared up, it cannot be passed from person to person. There is a lot of info online. I'm sorry, I could not find anything that was really child friendly either, but I double checked my info that we got a one of the classes. We have learned this from Hepatitis educators and my husbands doctor at a VA hospital. They educate you in all the types. And for the "medical student".....yes you can get rid of type A and B. It is type C that you can't get rid of. Hi i hope this link helps you http://www.britishlivertrust.org.uk/home... http://www.webmd.com/hepatitis/hepb-guid... Hope this helps....it also has sites for further information |
