If a man has hepatitis C and gets a woman pregnant, is there any chance that the baby can get hepatitis C.?

is there any chance that a man with hepatitis C, can give it to a woman? Or if a man with hepatitis C gets a woman pregnant, is there any chance that the baby will have hepatitis C through DNA?

if the man has hepatitis C and the woman doesn't, can she get it?
Or if the man has hepatitis C and the woman doesn't and he gets her pregnant, is there any chance of the baby to get it?

Yes it's a infectious disease, passed on through saliva and other bodily fluids ie blood semen. It's extremely contagious!!!!

no
even if you did infect the mother, which is unlikely from sexual contact, the mother and baby DO NOT share blood, they have their own seperate circulatory systems connected by a placental barrier through which gasses (O2 and C02) and waster products are passed through. If they shared blood then any time mother and baby had different blood types they would both die.
If the mother has Hepatitis C, she could potentially pass it to the baby during childbirth or while breastfeeding.
But no, Hepatitis does not "infect" your DNA and the baby cannot "inherit" it.

No...if the man has it - the baby will NOT get it...the only possibility of the woman contracting it from the man is if there is some sort of blood to blood transfer - meaning if the blood of the infected person gets in an open wound of the uninfected person.

This means, don't share shaving razors, toothbrushes or other sharp objects that can draw blood or perform rough sex where blood could be involved.

HCV does NOT transfer by bodily fluids, except for blood.

Yeh you can give a woman hep c if you have sex with her. The virus won't be in your DNA, but if you give it to the mom she can give it to the child. The doc will check her RNA levels, if it is low the baby might not get it especially if she doesn't also have HIV.

YES!!! if you give it to the mom she could, but not always pass it on to the baby. lots of babys are born with hep c that way. its unfotunate

it depends whether it is a boy or girl. if its a boy then no. if its a girl then yes. because the disease would be on the x chromosome, and not on the y chromosome. male = xy female = xx

not thru dna, thru the virus, its in the mothers blood stream, she and the baby share the blood.
