Hepatitis c flare ups?

my husband has hep C and he is ok for awhile. but every once in while he gets hemroids that bleed. we contain the blood. but we gets real weak.and dizzy. what can we do when this happens? what can I give him to keep this from happening? are their vitiams I can give him? food that can help.I worry about him and try to keep him healthly. he dont eat right all the time. he isnt on therapy yet. no meds. help

He should talk to his specialist (gastroenterologist) about this. If he's getting dizzy from blood loss, he's probably losing way too much blood. This is not a typical symptom of hep c and should be checked. Best wishes.

Has he ever been diagnosed with a possible secondary or bi-directional issue relative to having HCV infection?
It's possible that he could have more than just hemmroids. He could have polyps or gastrointeritis, or other bowel disorders commonly seen in those with chronic hcv infection like for instance, diverticulitis.

I would suggest in the meantime to keep a diary of what he is eating and drinking. Eventually you will find the foods that may aggrivate the situation.

Please make an appointment with your doctor, preferrably his gastrointerologist.

As for hcv flareups? The virus is continually active, however, some days are better than others...the virus doe's wax and wane, but it chooses to cause other secondary diseases when it wants. That is why we always say, if one can do treatment, do not wait. Some diseases are not reversible after treatment. Treat as early as possible regardless of alt and ast levels.

good luck

I agree with Cindy!
