Can you get hepatitis from ultrasonic water? |
I'm a dental sterilization tech. I find it hard to wear goggles sometimes because I also wear prescription glasses. In our lab we have an ultrasonic to clean off the debris from tools. The ultrasonic liquid is a combination of water and an enzyme cleaner, which as far as I know, does not kill Hepatitis of any form. I've put tools in the ultrasonic before a bit too quickly and had it splash in my eyes. I've been vaccinated for Hep A and B (I only received one shot for B and the nurse said I would be 95% covered even if I didn't get the second one), but I'm wondering what type of consequences I'm facing here. theoretically it may be possible, realistically its unlikely. But you don't want any fluids to get into your eyes so you should look into getting side guards put onto your prescription glasses that would act as goggles and then you would be protected from any splashes and also not have to wear another layer over your eyes. |
