Can you Sue somebody for giving you Hepatitis?

I have just found out i have hepatitis and my liver is failing quickly... Can i sue the person who gave me this if he KNEW he had this and i have proof that he Knew.

You will have to prove you got it from him (No other sexual partners during the period, for example, nor any other potential source).

You will have to prove he knew, probably through medical records.

You will also have to prove he knew it was contagious. "Well, everybody knows that" in't good enough.

Lastly, you'd have to testify that YOU did NOT know about his condition. That last is probably the easiest, it's just your word.

There have been a number of situations like this in various jurisdictions, including criminal conviction of assault.
