How does your body fight Hepatitis? |
I'm doing a research report about Hepatitis and I'm stuck on some questions. The question was 'What does your body do when you get this disease?' Does it create antibodies and if so, how do they work? There are many types of hepatitis. Hepatitis means "liver inflammation". Both viruses and bacteria have a protein called an antigen on their surface. Anytime a foreign antigen is introduced into the blood, the antigen triggers certain blood cells into producing antibodies, another kind of protein called an immunoglobulin. This is what will happen if any one of the various hepatitis viruses is introduced into the blood. The antibodies are drawn to the antigens and attach to the virus. They act as a sort of lo-jack for white blood cells. So, first the body's immune system goes into action and attempts to fight off the viruses. As the body fights, a person usually experiences the effects of the battle -- initially anorexia, malaise, nausea and vomiting and often fever. After around 3-10 days dark urine occurs and jaundice may follow. Other symptoms may include itching and pale stools. hey im hoping it fights agaisnt it cuz im worried for me so ill star your question iam not sure i have it thought but still im worried cuz i shared a scaler (teeth cleaner) and got some scratches but luckly the guy before me washed the thing but still |
