Questions about Hepatitis B, and C, and also Hives?

I had the urgent care run some urine and blood test on me, the only thing that came back bad was my Liver,

Help if you understand these medical numbers:

AST (SGOT) : 86 IU/L Should be between 0-40 - So its double
ALT (SGPT) : 77 IU/L Should be between 0-55 - So its also high

The doctor said he is worried that I have hepititas B, or C . He says I could have caught it from an std, blood transfusion, or sharing needles. So i stayed up all night on the net confusing and worrying myself if I have an std. Today, I got the results from my hepititas test, and this is what it says

HCV Antibody (whats this by the way?)
Hep C Virus Ab Results: 0.2 s/co ratio 0.0 - 0.9 Negative
Positive: >0.9

HBsAg Screen - Negative

Does this mean i was tested for both B, and C?
He said both were negative

He said I have no std, but does that mean i dont have hiv also?

Nope, you don't have any STD for the matter, since hepatitis virus only attacks your liver; you could, however, get this diseases through sexual transmission, needle sharing, blood transfusion, etc.

The HBsAg designation is the antibody for the free-floating antigen of Hep virus in your bloodstream. So, if HIV is your concern, you should'nt concern yourself with it so much because you don't have any STD...unless of course you have something else in your system like gonorrhea or chlamydia infection, then it becomes different because others tests are needed.

b is an std, c is not an std.
high enzymes can mean many things.
when elevated it can mean your liver, but it can also indicate other things. autoimmune hepatitis, nash. It can also mean that you may have mono as well as other infections. (my slightly elevated enzymes (off and on) were blamed on a bad tooth.)

I would run the HCV test again just to be sure. sometimes tests are not always conclusive and mistakes do happen.
Hepatitis Antibody means he tested your blood for antibodies that cause hepatitis c.
As for the poster who said HCV is only a liver disease, he is a lot further from the truth...HCV can only survive in the liver, but HCV affects every organ and every tissue in our bodies. HCV is not a true STD because it is a blood to blood disease-meaning blood exposure and contamination has to take place to pass the virus, hcv corpuscles found in semen, vaginal fluid, saliva, mucus and tears are not transmittable, because it is dead and incomplete parts of the virus.
