Can you get the Hepatitis virus from clothes, shoes, or anything else in that category? |
I work in an hospital setting and I am afraid that I could bring home diseases that my outterwear may come into contact with without me knowing. I also ride the public transportation and scared about catching something there as well. Please help elimate these irrational fears... it depends on which hepatitis virus you are talking about. There is A (food borne/contamination with fecal matter) Hepatitis B (having sex with someone who has it or sharing drugs with the infected person) Hepatitis C (there is no chance unless there is transfer of blood into your blood) Hepatitis D (only occurs with hepatitis B) Hepatitis E (rare in the United States) Source(s): hcvadvocate and victim of hcv infection via mass innoculation at age 8. Yes, if you handle an object has fecal residue from some one infected with Hepatitis and then touch you mouth or your food with out washing your hands.
