Do my baby need hepatitis b vaccine before we go to Turkey?

my baby 9 months old and i am going to visit my boyfriends family in turkey. so we will be with turkish people. about a month. routinly in turkey hepatites b childhood immunization. they get this when they born and a month later and again when they r 6 months old. i asked my gp and he said my baby doesnt need that vaccine for turkey. but i am worried cause if babies having that vaccine in turkey i think my baby should get it too bfore we go to turkey.so there is obviously a risk in turkey and i want to protect my baby! what should i do? how can my baby get it??

i think your baby already had the hep b vaccine, i do believe this is one of the vaccinations they give before 1 years old, you just don't know it. call the baby's doctor and ask. Source(s): Immunizations

Many babies are given a hepatitis B vaccine in the hospital nursery shortly after birth. If your baby's had this vaccine, he or she is off the hook for this visit. If not, the hepatitis B vaccine may be given now. Other vaccinations will be given at the next checkup.

I say go with your gut and get it now. Safe then sorry.
To be on the safe side I would check with my family doctor and see if you child needs to take it why take a chance on your childs health if your child has never been to a country that has update medical facilities. Go and check with your doctor before you go that would be a good idea.
There are no mandatory vaccinations for Turkey.

Do NOT get vaccinated.

A vaccinated person is MORE likely to get a disease than a non-vaccinated person. The whole theory of vaccination is flawed. It causes a weakening of the immune system thus making those who are innoculated more susceptible to disease.
