BUT, these symptoms often don't present for 20 years!! Initial symptoms may be similar to the flu or a cold in some people whereas others never get initial symptoms after infection.

Hepatitis C can cause cirrhosis, which has numerous complications, and may eventially even cause cancer.

If you think you may be infected I would suggest getting tested- your regular old doctor can draw the blood for you. Source(s): work in the health field
