What is the relationship between Hepatitis C Virus and Diabetes? |
What is the relationship between Hepatitis C Virus and Diabetes? I really don't think they have anything in common. never heard of a direct relationship, but it makes sense that hep c would be more dangerous to a diabetic than someone w/o diabetes No direct relationship, but a diabetic is somewhat immunosuppressed, so they might be more likely to develop Hep C. You can get virus even during close contact (mostly biological fluids). Diabetics ,even ,is being the group of risk to have much more contacts .They have to take care of themselves trying to be alive, so they have much more invasive or not invasive procedures to be done. I think Virus C is much more available in diabetes complication group. my own opinion. Thanks for question, I,ll find other sources hepatitis C is a virus thats destroys your liver, diabetes is the unresponsiveness of your body to insulin or the destruction of insulin secreting cells aka destroying the beta cells of your pancreas in my openion -hepatitis C virus destroys liver cells . -liver cells are used to gather & accumulate glucose as glycogen .(& liver is considered the main storage organ for glucose ) -liver cells has insulin receptors on its surface . -insulin is used to lower blood glucose when its high in blood . -when insulin receptors are destroyed insulin even if poured in the blood will not function & glucose level in blood will be high . by destroing the liver cells you are prone to have diabetes .(type 2 ) thats the only relation i can think of between hepatitis & diabetes . |
