How do they test for hepatitis c and what is the treatment for it?

Hep-C requires specialized blood testing. There is a treatment (interferon) via injections along with an oral medication. It's a rough treatment making you feel like you have the flu every day. Depending on your age and how long you've had Hep-C your doctor would recommend if it would be best for you. There is no cure. If you are advanced with the disease, you can get a liver transplant. However, that liver too, will soon be infected. Go to a good Hep-C webside for complete education. Good luck. Source(s): retired nurse

you get a shot, it won't hurt that much. I haven't ever gotten it so i don't know what the trreatment is
It's easily detected from a blood test.The treatment(not a cure)is a series of 3 gamma globulin shots.

Also note that Hapatitis c never leaves the body, but is "contained" by the shots. Those infected can never give blood.
