Is it easy to contract Hepatitis C by having unprotected sex? |
I hear its rare for someone to get it from sexual contact, but is this true? hcv corpuscles found in semen, vaginal fluids, saliva, tears or mucus are NOT transferrable! hcv can ONLY spread through cross blood contamination. i have had hcv since the age of 8 if not longer and two healthy teenagers and NO ONE has hcv. blood to blood only, so unless you are having some very rough sex or anal sex, chances are possible, but highly unlikely. all of you who have made it sound as though you can get it through sexual relations are WRONG. you have more a chance of spreading hcv through household exposure, ie, sharing a toothbrush or razors or anything sharp that may cut and spread the disease. I am 40. Female, in a relationship now for three years, of course I reponded to antiviral chemotherapy over 5 years ago. Prior to that I had a relationship off and on again for 14 years. I had two other relationships that resulted in children. I have two healthy teens not affected by HCV. No one has hcv. Yes, it is VERY RARE to acquire hcv in this manner! BTW, treat your body with respect. Although your chance of getting hcv through sexual relationships are only about .06% *out of over 4 million folks who have hcv* and remember, blood to blood only-there are other diseases out there wear protection. Source(s): Riss-Hepatitis C Objectives Is the pope catholic? r yes I was always told you can only contract that from IV. you shouldnt be having unprotected sex unless you are married to the person anyway....BE SAFE For sure. Hep C is transmitted through blood contact. Any irritation or tear could act as a portal of entry. You need to treat Hep. C as you would any other sexually transmitted disease (protect yourself) as well as the AIDS virus. |
