Yes there are currently new treatments being developed for hep. c patients. Most of the new treatments do involve interferon shots, mostly now once a week instead of three times a week. If you're not seeing a hepatologist I recommend that you consult one. I attended Shands Hospital in Gaineseville at the University of Florida, and was involved in a combination Robatron treatment--Interferon and Ribavirin for 18 months. Also check out clinical trials.gov type in Hepatitis C for ther search criteria.
