What is the most recent treatment of hepatitis c?

What is the most recent treatment of hepatitis c?

only treatment for HCV is interferon products combined with ribavirin. Three on the market: PEG-Inron, Pegasys and Infergen. Cure rates exceed 50%. Truth is only a minority (less than 20%) will go on to need a liver transplant with HCV. The majority die at a ripe old age WITH hcv but do not die OF hcv. Things that will cause you to be in the bad (20%) group are 1) alcohol makes HCV grow like wildfire. increase your risk of cirrhosis 10 fold and increase your risk of liver cancer 6 fold. 2) smoking increases your rate of cirrhosis and liver cancer (duh!) and 3) marijuana does the same (probably not the marijuana, but the fact you are smoking it). All of these statements based on published medical studies. Source(s): I am a hepatologist
