What is the recommended diet in the post-Hepatitis recovery period? |
What is the recommended diet in the post-Hepatitis recovery period? well, it would really depend on what hepatitis you have....there are many types of hepatitis. there is a, b, c, d, e, f if it is a, a brat diet is in order, especially if there is diarhhea present. if it is b or c, you would be best not eating foods containing iron. no alcohol and no strong narcotics. drink plenty of fluids. you will have to re-test to see if your body built up antibodies...only 15% of those with hcv buildup antibodies, the remainder are chronically infected. if is it b, you would only be able to have d....hepatitis d without the presence of hepatitis b wont happen. if your not sure, ask your doctor. good luck Source(s): hcv advocate drink lots of water and cranberry juice or other clear nutritious liquids. drink alot of water. it cleanses and flushes your system ask your doctor is probably better than ask yahoo. If your liver function was affected, you will want to stick to a low (60gm/d) protein diet. As important is limiting or eliminating meds that are potentially liver-taxing, such as acetominophen, also no alcohol. Normal diet, no restriction. Food taboos in hepatitis are just old wives' tales. |
