I dated a guy who was infected with hepatitis C for almost a year.? |
We broke up several months ago. Now I'm worried that I might have hep c. We had sex without condoms (but never during my periods). Can anyone tell me where I can get tested for hep c? (I live in NY, brooklyn) And how much is it gonna cost me? (considering the fact that i don't have health insurance). And also I wanna do it anonymously. Go to the health department. Tell them that you have been in a high risk relationship. They will test you there. Whatever you do, please do not have unprotected sex until you know. You could infect someone else.the good thing is if you have hcv (everyone has risk factors) you probably didn't aquire it from him. hcv is blood to blood only, anotherwords his blood would have to transmit into your blood stream. hcv corpuscles found in semen, vaginal fluid, tears, saliva and mucus are not transmittable. if you have your ears pierced, your at risk. infact, more at risk than sexual intercourse! (again, hcv is blood to blood and only occurs if you had an open wound and he was bleeding). if you find you are hcv positive, genotypes do not change from the "host". anotherwords, if you find you have hcv and have a different genotype, you did not get hcv from him and even if you did have the same genotype, it would be hard to really say you got it from him as you more than likely have other risk factors. so, with that being said, just ask your doctor to test you. tell him not to rely on alt and ast alone- found in a regular liver panel test. you have to specifically test for hcv antibodies. good luck. testing price runs about the same in each state. so your looking at the actual test for hcv and the office visit. you can try to test for hcv at a free clinic such as planned parenthood, but since hcv is not a true std, it may also vary where you can acquire the test. good luck! riss-hepatitis c objectives Persons with hbv is usually prone to developing hcv. Studies shows that the two culprit goes together. So if are hbv positive, you would likely catch hcv. Yes you can get Hep C from your ex partner. The best place to get tested would be the local Health Department. Tell them you have been exposed to Hep C. Cousins gf has Hep C. |
