Could you tell me if there is a knowing cure for hepatitis C? |
I've heard that there is a cure for Hepatitis C, someone told me that there is a series of shots for 6 months and also approximately 5 pills a day that is suppose to cure this disease, has any one heard of this yet! Please help,Looking for answers! Linda Hep C is now curable. The exact terminology used is achieving a durable remission which means that even 6 months to 2 years after finishing treatment there is no detectable hep C virus in your blood. The treatment doesn't cure everyone(40-70% depending on which genotype), but even if you don't go viral negative, you will help heal your liver and reduce your chances of developing liver cancer. BTW- The treatment also has lots of unpleasant side effects so make sure and ask your Dr about what to expect. http://www.pegasys.roche.com.pk/main.htm... http://www.pegintron.com/peg/application... http://janis7hepc.com/pegintron_or_pegas... You might want to try www.webmd.com They have all kinds of information there. http://www.medicineau.net.au/clinical/me... ,,,, There are TREATMENTS for it to prolong your life expectancy. There is no so-called "cure." HepC hasn't been around long enough for docs to say you're "cured" or just in relapse or what. Of the people who take these meds (that make you very sick like with the flu) a small percentage end up to be "undetectable" of the disease in their blood. Will this undetectable-ness last? No one knows. All you can do really is to take care of yourself, do the treatment if your doc agrees, go through the side effects and pray to be undetectable and that it STAYS undetectable. Unfortunately, you shouldn't get your hopes up (like me) but also, don't give up......they are finding new and improved tx's all the time.......Take care........... From my own experience There is No Cure for Hepatitis C, even though they have new medicine that give good treatment for it now. |
