Can someone please tell me about fatty infiltrate of the liver. I do not have hepatitis nor am an alcoholic.?

long story short. Ihave taken alot of different meds in my life. am about 50 lbs over weight. and am 35. went to the dr for my thyroid meds just moved in town new dr. reg blood test and up comes abnormal liver. so got an ultrasound this week just got a letter in mail stating ultrasound showed a fatty infiltrate. so i go on webmd look it up nothing so i do the web results and i go to a cancer site. is this cancerous? of course i get this letter in the mail today 430 office already closed. dont wanna call and sound dumb and dont wanna freak out till then if you know please any info would be great.

Look up under fatty liver. Fatty infiltrate means that there is an accumulation of fat in the liver cells. It is not cancer. You can look up on Web MD or MedicineNet.com. I just read that if you are overweight that losing weight can help with this disease. Hope this helps you. Source(s): MedicineNet.com
It sounds like you have fatty tissue on the liver. Check out fatty liver or fatty tissue on web md
