How can i control my mom's high Blood Pressure? |
My mom is in US with me and her blood pressure went suddently very high. 154/90. It came down to 134/81 yesterday. I am really scared for future since I cannot take her to doctor here. its so expensive and I cannot afford. She is a chronic blood pressure patient. is there any other ways to keep her blood pressure in control. She is 55. Any potentially serious health problem should, of course, be referred to a medical doctor, if possible......emergency clinics are available at most hospitals if payment to a private doctor is impossible......actually, while 154/90 is outside the range of normal blood pressure, it is not VERY high...especially since it has dropped to 134/81....which is really not too bad for a woman your mother's age....then too, some people "react" to having their blood pressure taken..they, in effect, get so nervous, it makes their blood pressure go up.........one- time high readings are not conclusive...most doctors like to take repeat readings over several days to get a true BP value. So,......ideally, try your best to get your mother treated by a professional.......there are a few things that might be tried ......if mother is overweight, try getting her to diet...sometimes a weight loss causes the pressure to drop......avoid too much salt....do eat a diet high in potassium.....avoid too much mental stress......try a gentle aerobic exercise like walking, jogging or swimming....good luck....and my respect to you for helping your mother with her health care. By reducing the ingestion of sodium (salt). Cinnamon pills do some diet modifications eat low salt, low fats foods watch her salt intake, watch her weight and try to keep her stress free Having her reduce her intake of sodium(salt products), encorage and enfore exercising even if its just taking a daily 30min walk. Reduce any of her stressful ambiences/situations and constantly monitor her blood pressure (at least 3 times a day). And she should go to her doctor to monitor it, because there can be serious complication in the long run if the problem still exists. But there are always low fair or even free clinics any where in the US locally, and when it comes to medicines, most major Pharmecutical companies have programs that can even provide her meds for a very low cost and sometimes even for free. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/hbp/ use little bit of salt, drink xanga(xango?? sumthing like that, garlic is good for hypertension(high bp) and bittermellon..... and dont forget to do some cardio excercise.... Reduce stress by having her doing something she likes to do\ Saturated fat is the main dietary cause of high blood cholesterol. Saturated fat is found mostly in foods from animals and some plants. Foods from animals include beef, beef fat, veal, lamb, pork, lard, poultry fat, butter, cream, milk, cheeses and other dairy products made from whole and 2 percent milk. All of these foods also contain dietary cholesterol. Foods from plants that contain saturated fat include coconut, coconut oil, palm oil and palm kernel oil (often called tropical oils), and cocoa butter. Definitely Xango!!!!! Its an all natural fruit juice, no pills or anything, plus it tastes good!! Gotta try it, it will change your life forever! My father's blood pressure was 180 over 140 and he's dropped over half of his medications and drinks Xango has dropped his Blood pressure to 130 over 72!! He loves it and feels better! Try and get her on Olive Leaf Extract, from a health food shop, it is good and my husband takes it |
