High blood pressure and ringing n ears?

is high blood pressure connected with ringing in the ears and if so can anybody tell me why.sensible answers only please

Yes, high blood pressure can cause ringing in the ears. Get it checked. Most people don't have this symptom, but it is a symptom nonetheless.

However, tinnitus is the most common cause and there isn't much you can do about it. I have that. It's annoying, but you blank it out eventually unless it is really loud. You can get tinnitus from very loud sounds or ear infections, most commonly.

BTW, if you already have tinnitus, anything that raises your blood pressure, even a little bit, can make it much louder. Lawn mowing and working out are good examples

ive had ringing in the ears for a while now and was just diagnosed with high blood pressure so i think the two are related. Report It

i get that too..

It is very unlikely that the two are connected. Generally high blood pressure presents at symptomless

I have very high blood pressure, controlled by medication. I have never had ringing in my ears. I think such a symptom is more likely to be tinnitus.

Mum:
"I've never heard of it being connected with ringing in the ears. High blood pressure gives very few physical symptoms, which is why it's called the 'silent killer'. If blood pressure is very high it sometimes causes a headache."

The ringing in your ears is caused by the build up of pressure around the body, sometimes when your blood pressure goes down the ringing may remain for a couple of hours even days.
