High blood pressure, but healthy!? |
Hi, so I'm 19, walk around 9 miles a day for my job, and have a fairly decent diet. Thing is, I'm 5'11" and only 140 lbs. How the hell do I have high blood pressure? I have had it checked since 8 months ago, and it seems to stay right around 150/80. My systolic is high, but my diastolic is fine. What does this mean, and how do I have high blood pressure?! I also every once in awhile get a very low pulse. I actually just took my pulse and it was 52 beats per minutes. I feel really out of it when I get these low pulses. The lowest I've ever had when I took it was 48. is this also bad? You need to get a trend on your blood pressures. Elevated systolic blood pressure isnt as concerning as elevated diastolic. Sometimes high blood pressure is genetic. It could also be a vitamin deficiency you may have. as long as your diastolic is not too high, there is no need to worry. because, it seems to me that you don't even have high blood pressure. you just think you do. the high systolic happens to everyone during the day. it is caused by daily tensions, anxiety, etc. but high diastolic indicates risk. don't let it go beyond 85-90. Eat less animal fat especially red meat. |
