High Blood Pressure - Healthy Recipes Please ?

I have a serious problem with High Blood Pressure and would like some help in choosing something good to eat thjat I can make fairly quickly. I love to eat which is why I haven't been able to improve my diet. Any ideas?

Thank you for any help you can give.

Reduce you salt, sugar and caffeine intake. If you have a problem with your blood pressure, you should go to a doctor and have medicine prescribed. High blood pressure is a very serious thing, you can have a stroke or a heart attack. This happened to my dad and it isn't a very pleasant thing to have to go through.

My husband has high blood pressure and a marginal cholesterol problem. The one thing I have learned to do in cooking is to replace much of the salt with a lot of fresh herbs and spicier foods. Like for instance, I make a pork tenderloin that I simply brush with spicy brown mustard and cover with chopped fresh herbs like thyme, parsley, sage and some oregano. I pop it into a 400F oven for about 25 minutes and it comes out with a delicious crust and you'd never know I didn't add a bit of salt. It makes a great wrap cold the next day in a tortilla or flat bread with a little sweet pickle relish, some low fat cheese more spicy mustard and lettuce. Also roasting vegetables with herbs, onion and peppers adds flavor without salt.

The other thing I try to do is make a lot of salads and cook with only olive or canola oils.

Being in the same boat, there's not too much I was told not to eat, but rather I should avoid how the types of foods I like are prepared. Limit fried fries, processed foods, canned foods, high sodium foods. For me, this means many trips to the market to buy perishible items that must be consumed within a few days. Reading nutritional labels, overnight soaking veggies that are high in sodium/potassium.

low fat low salt, diets are good , you can eat lots of things if you restrict salt and fat, salads are good to start off with lean meat , but not too much red meat , try to stick to chicken and fish
