High blood pressure and protein in urine in pregnancy - UK guidelines? |
I went to the midwife this morning as I was a bit worried about sweling in my feet - I went to bed with socks on so I could clearly see they were swollen. Worried me a bit because usually any swelling I do get during the day goes down overnight. So I went along and they did my BP that was 150/90. My booking BP was 110/70 and my last appt at begining of June was 130/80. I also had +2 protein in my urine. I forgot to say as well I was happy in fact ecstatic that I hadn't put any more than few lbs on up until now but that was another reason to go as I have put on half a stone in a few days and haben't been eating any more than usual. if your going for monitoring another ultrasound could happen, also try not worry as swelling to the feet is very common some worse than others. you have done right seeing your midwife, but i thibk if it was anything too serious then you would of been monitored straight away. Try not to worry because that will just make your bp worse. Easier said than done I know but relax till your appointment. Midwives are not known for telling you what you want to hear. They usually tell it to you straight so if they don't appear too worried take heart from that. They may do another ultrasound just to check but I'm not sure. Look after yourself and good luck. usually HBP, protien in your urine and swelling can be an indication of pre-eclampsia, they may not do a scan as using a doppler will show the babies heartbeat. They may insist on bedrest to keep your BP lower. I was 32 weeks when that happened to me. The might give you something to lower your blood pressure and bed rest. Don't stress too much because that does not help. Relax in bed with a good book. You might have to watch your diet as well. hello, |
