High Blood Pressure Question... Any doctors, nurses, or paramedics know what's wrong with me? |
I'm a 19-year old male. I'm 5'11", 150 pounds, roughly 11% body fat. I am a moderate athlete. I run regularly but not competitivley anymore. I eat a healthy diet with a significant amount of junk food on top of the nutrients. My parents and relatives all have very low blood pressure (my mom has 110/65 for example). Even my two brothers have low blood pressure so I don't think it's genetic. No meds. My left ventrical is the "upper limit of normal" and that was 5 years ago... I say it's the sleep apnea, I know from both clinical experience and personal experience. Clinically there is a relationship between sleep apnea and higher than normal blood pressures... Just google "Sleep apnea and high blood pressure" and you'll see the results. My personal experience is from my mother who had severe sleep apnea that is controlled formerly with a CPAP and now a BiPAP had out of control blood pressure. The idea behind the medicine is that somehow sleep apnea impairs blood pressure regulation. Here's an article that I find sortof has a little bit about the relationship and how it effects blood vessels. http://www.talkaboutsleep.com/sleep-diso... why do you consider it high? The doc doesn't sound concerned. The junk food could raise your pressure , especially a significant amount. It's really not too bad.Keep track of what you're doing when it raises.Any stress will do it-once you are calmer it probably drops.Maybe you worry about it way too much-relax-enjoy life :) i'm a nurse. r u on any bp meds at all? an enlarged ventricle is not normal. 120/80 is considered prehypertension now. is your urinalysis normal? what's your urea and creatinine values? Trust your doctor. He's the professional. take cinnamon capsules |
