Exercise will help lower your blood pressure. A common cause of high blood pressure is being overweight, so losing 20 lbs is a great start to getting your blood pressure down. Have you had it checked since your weight loss? Yes, high blood pressure can cause you to retain water which will increase your weight. I heard that as well that once you start them you are pretty much stuck on them for life because if you stop your blood pressure will go back high. Medication is not a cure for high blood pressure it only stabilizes it - so if you stop - you will still have high blood pressure. Have you tried any of the natural remedies for high blood pressure. Reduce your salt intake too. Actually, your weight loss should help your high blood pressure. High BP doesn't effect your ability to lose weight and about the meds - it is not correct that you are on them for life. You just don't want to suddenly stop taking them. You have to gradually reduce the dosage - per doctors instructions. yes it can because it will slow down your metabolism Good exercise techniques will help control your blood pressure. I don't have a clue as to what borderline high is!!! |
