Can you feel high blood pressure?

Just wondering, because of the fact that whenever I feel "this way" and I check my blood pressure its really high. It sort of feels like strong stress..or anxiety. Im 22 years old 205 lbs. Not the healthiest Im sure but im somewhat worried about these spikes in blood pressure.

I remember being in a really stressful situation and my blood pressure spiked temporarily until I completely resolved and dealt with the issues causing my stress. Once I did, my BP went back to normal and has remained so (2 years ago!!!).

I definitely felt WAY out of sorts, almost like an out of control hotness and just unwell. Some people do feel headaches when it's really high too. There is a reason they call it the silent killer, because most people don't know. But you are pretty astute to be able to sense when you are not quite right.

Did you know that a mere 20 pound weight loss can drop your BP by 10 points?

I want you to do something. Start walking half an hour every day. I bet you in a few weeks you will see your BP has gotten much better and that YOU feel better too.

STOP EATING SALTY FOODS!! And foods high in SODIUM...which is SALT in another form. No processed foods as they are high in sodium. Cut back on caffeine some too.

If you follow these two measures alone I guarantee you will see improvement in your BP, but exercise is really the key, and walk if you don't do anything else..>EVERY DAY.

Try to lose some weight, even a little will help but sodium is your worst enemy, dont forget that. Cut out fatty foods as much as possible too.

Most people who have heart attacks usually have them when they have 70 percent BLOCKAGE in their arteries. Too late then.

PS: If you have a blood pressure machine, check your BP in the morning. Never after a cup of coffee. Sit there quietly for a good 5 minutes, no looking at the computer or anything. RELAX...THEN take your BP. Do this at night too and repeat for about 2 or 3 weeks and compare your readings.

Everyone's BP can spike up to crazy numbers temporarily, but it is your resting rate that is important, and the lower number the most crucial, ie if your BP is 140/80...the 80 is more important than that 140. If that's 90...not too good. You should be about 120/70 for your age.

I have hypertension, (high blood pressure) and I noticed feeling dizzy and a headache that moved to different parts of my head. I also felt like I could not breath. It is very scary. My blood pressure is controlled by medication. I went straight to my doctors office because I felt very ill. When they took my BP, it was 204/100.

I have that too. But I blew a vein in my head and they had to open up the old melon. Then the speech and physical therapy, and some of these drs. haven't a clue and some are sharp. But you never know which is which. But I'm old, so what.

A differential diagnosis will be necessary to determine exactly what is happening. There are cases where such symptoms don't indicate hypertension, even when blood pressure is high.

That's exactly what spikes in blood pressure feel like. So it's up to you if you want to do something to better your health or not.

My father has a high BP problem.
You are quite young for all such diesese, change you life style and yoga will help you a lot!
Best of luck!
