Im really worried about my mother's high blood pressure?

She is so stubborn and doesn't seem to be taking this seriously. Her blood pressure seems to be going up and up. She is not under any massive strain (although she does tend to worry) and is not over weight. She is already on medication but it will sometimes soar causing her to get numbness in her face. I am really worried what can we do to help her???

If her hypertension is being poorly managed this can lead to problems. The higher the BP, the greater the stroke risk. You need to encourage your mother to see her Dr. However, we can't force other people to take their own health seriously, it is her life at the end of the day. All you can do is encourage.

They can help her by either putting her on anti-hypertensive medication (if indicative) this would generally mean she has an average BP reading of 160/100+ or if she is taking existing medication,- they may adjust it.

She also need to try and eat a well balanced diet, reduce sodium intake and try and stay as close to her ideal weight as possible.

Go power walk with her 4 times a week and encourage her to eat healthy foods. This will help her a lot! I am sorry hun but this is all you can really do. Your mom is going to do what she wants to do with her body.
