37 Weeks pregnant....high blood pressure!?

Ok so I went to the dr yesterday for my 37 week check up and the dr said my blood pressure was a bit higher then normal. After a little while he made my lay down and he took it again and he said it was ok. I could tell he was REALLY on the fence about whether he should be worried or not.....which of course makes me worry. He said to call right away if I have any dizziness or headaches. My issue is that I have a cough and everytime I cough my head hurts like CRAZY! So I always have a headache because of that! Are there other signs I can look for that would indicate my blood pressure is high again?

Sudden increase in swelling, especially in hands or face.
Decrease in urine output.
Headaches that are rather constant and not just when you cough.
Spots in your vision or blurriness, or double vision.
A heartburn-like pain behind your ribs on the right side.

These are all signs of preeclampsia or worsening high blood pressure.

Well, you're at 37 weeks so even if you do develop hig blood pressure, the doc could deliver the baby and you would both be fine. I'd say just try to relax and if you have any questions at all, call your doctor. He might have been on the fence, but I bet that the first thing he would do is have you on bed rest...or house rest, where you have to stay home. Just relax and call him if you are worried.

Having high blood pressure in pregnancy is normal due to the stress of the baby you carry when pregnant
sorry i dont know very much x x good luck with the little one when it comes x
