Can hypothyroid cause high blood pressure?

Hypothyroidism is one of the main causes of high blood pressure. It will always lead to it eventually in the later stages.

Because blood flow becomes lower with hypothyroidism, the blood pressure increases to compensate for the poor circulation that almost always occurs with hypothyroidism.

not usually, if we are to compare it with hyperthyroidism.

with hypothyrodism, everything is low except cholesterol levels in the blood. meaning metabolic processes are low. metabolic processes in the body involves any of the usual activities of the body like heart pumping blood, gut movement, and the other stuff, that is why people with hypothyroidism usually gain weight and their cholesterol levels get high.

with hyperthyroidism, this is where BP may increase depending on the severity. with hyperthyroidism, metabolic process are usually high, like the heart works faster that is why their BPs may increase. people with hyperthyroidism also tend to be thin or thinner than their usual because of weight loss due to the fast metabolism or fast metabolic processes going on.

but of course BPs of people with HYPOthyroidism may increase than their usual considering their disorder already. like when they are anxious probably or did some sort of strenuous exercise, but their BP as a person w/ hypothyroidism will not be as high as the blood pressure they would have had being a person free from the disorder.

yes it will as it leads to hypercholesterolemia .. it elevates both systolic and diastolic ... while hyperthyroidism elevates only the systolic
