I am taking Lisinopril for high blood pressure. Can I take Centrum too? |
I just want to know if someone has ever done it with the doctor's consent. Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and is used very commonly for blood pressure problems. Like others have said here, check with your doctor or even better still, check with your pharmacist (not the pharmacy tech). They will provide the info you need. Based on what I know about Centrum, you shouldn't have any worries. There is so little effective ingredients in a broad-spectrum multi vitamin like that that you can't expect much to interact with anything. The industry calls it 'fairy dusting'. They put just enough of something in there to say it's in there but not enough to really affect anything. That keeps the cost low too. Hope this helps. Jeff the nurse in Nashville. Use this site and then check with your Doctor... http://www.drugdigest.org/dd/interaction... Yes, I take lisinopril and Centrum. But why don't you just ask your doctor or his nurse? I believe that you can. When you have your Rx filled, you get some info on it and it should list what you shouldn't take. I wouldn't see why you could not take a multi vitamin with it. Word of caution, I was on lisinopril and I thought it was my lifesaver. It was only $7.15 a month with my insurance and did wonders with my BP, til I started having a dry, hacking cough all the time and slept with a bottle of water. I found out from my health insurance pharmacy consultation service that a dry cough is the leading side effect of lisinopril. |
