If someone is taking medication for high blood pressure can they consume alcohol?

My Doctor has prescribed me a high blood pressure pill and has told me that alcohol in moderation is ok.

Furtermore a studdy has shown that alcohol in moderation 1 beer for wemon and up to 2 for men has actualy lowered blood pressure over no alcohol at all! as alcohol in small amounts protects the hart.
