What happens to someone when they have high blood pressure all of a sudden?


My grandpa has 185, is that bad? He got rushed to the hospital....and now I'm really worried.

My High Blood Pressure came on very quickly. It went from very very low to very very high. Until I knew that was the problem, I felt almost like I was drunk 24/7. Couldn't eat or sleep and had severe headaches.

They will put him on medication and try to determine if the high blood pressure is being caused by something else. This is Secondary Hypertension. They will tell him to exercise more and to drink less caffeine and eat less salt and fat. They have very good means of getting blood pressure under control so I'm sure your Grandpa will be just fine. They just need to determine what made it so high.

Try not to worry to much. Make sure he knows you love him.
