Her age is 75 years Avoid everything healthy diet including fibre and fish(omega3)...limit white bread/rice/pasta, sugary and fatty foods and exercise! walking and staying active helps. I'm not a doctor, but I do consider myself borderline diabetic. The lady might want to talk with her doctor about these things. She'll want to avoid fatty meats and processed sugars. By processed sugars, I mean like what is used in a lot of breakfast cereals. She'll also want to avoid fried foods because that will just put fat into them. Try to get fresh and organic foods if you can. Don't drink sodas: Those tend to be very sugary. Consider teas and fruit drinks instead. Try to get a lot of whole grains and fish, if she's not allergic to iodine. Over all else, she should talk with the doctor who's helping with her diabetes. Good luck! Avoid cigarettes, alcohol, sodium, candy, trans-fats, and animal fat. Stick to fish and green/red/yellow vegetables. Also walk (if practical) or do very mild cardio several times a day. McDonald's and traffic. At her age she needs to go on a diet and exercise regimen as direced by her physician. At advanced ages one cannot play around with ideas.
