What is the best way to treat SEVERELY High Blood Pressure in a young adult. (systolic 170)~genetic?


My fiance has been diagnosed with HBP, but the doctors are not helping him much stating "this is usually a problem for older people". We know there are genetic influences on his condition (his one grandfather passing away from a heart attack in his 30's?). We have cut out salt, he drinks very rarely, he doesnt use drugs, he exercises, and is not overweight at all...and now, both of us are just scared.
A doctor mentioned Beta Inhibitors? and another calcium channel inhibitors...
Also, is there a way to find a doctor who will actually care a little instead of throwing him into the category of HBP with 60 year old men and telling him to watch what he eats (not that he can watch it anymore).

yeah you need another doctor. exercise can help hbp. but sounds like he still needs meds.
