What's good for a cold if you have high blood pressure?

The problem for patients with high blood pressure and cold medications are the decongestants. Most commonly are the products Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) and Sudafed-PE (phenylephrine). To a lesser extent the topical decongestant, Afrin Nasal Spray and Neo-Synephrine Nasal Spray can in theory increase blood pressure, but when used cautiously and for a short period of time (no more than 3 days) may be used by individuals with HBP.

There's one brand of over-the-counter products marketed specifically for people with high blood pressure - Coricidin HBP. There are a couple of different brands with different ingredients - Cough and Cold, Maximum Strength Flu, Cold and Flu, Chest Congestion and Cough. You should safely be able to take Muscenex and Tylenol Cold...When you go to get your medication just ask the Pharmacist while you are there..ss
Corecedin (sp?) HBP.

It is specifically formulated for people with h.b.p.

I think it has lower levels of anti-histamine or something like that.
Should be available at any pharmacy without a prescription.
