Can anyone tell me what you take to lower high blood pressure quickly? Look dear,if the blood pressure is moderately elevated, you don't have to take more than a diuretic as furosemide [lasix],If it's highly elevated, this is so dangerous & may lead to serious complications as cerebral haemorrhage, but to know it's much more dangerous to be lowered rapidly & I'm going to tell you a situation that happened with me,I'm a 5 th year medical student, but here we don't deal with patients except after we graduate ,a neighbour of us was ill & they asked me to see him till a doctor comes,so, I went.I measured his blood pressure & found that it's 220/130,This is a medical emergency ,so,I gave him lasix & nifidepine[epilat] sublingual, the later drug causes rapid vasodilatation causing rapid decrease of blood pressure & it's taken sublingual only in case of angina pectoris to induce vasodilatation of coronaries & stop the anginal pain immediately. But in case of high blood pressure it must be taken orally to elapse adequate time till its action is on.So the pressure which was 220/130 suddenly became less than 100/60 i.e hypotension & the patient felt severe tachycardia & palpitation. When the doctor came ,he told me you know what you did is like heating a piece of metal to melting point & then throwing it into cold water. So answering your question I'll say, lasix IM or IV +nifedipine[epilat] ORALLY. I hope I could help. Source(s): A medical student. Prescribed medication. Any other action you can take will take time to kick in eg weight loss, lower salt intake and de-stressing. They say garlilek (sp?) its those garlic tablets in stores. But you should go to the doctor so he can give you the right pres. There are many meds on the market. Lie down immediately. If you haven't seen a doctor for high blood pressure, you should. I take Accupril or Enapril. cinnamon is supposed to help lower blood pressure but don't know how fast it works or how well. You could cut your wrists, but take the time to do it the right way with medications. |
