What is the main reason that teenage boys have high blood pressure?

YESTERDAY, BLOOD PRESSURE AT DR OFFICE-120 OVER 100, THEN 120 OVER 90 TWICE AND THEN ABOUT AN HOUR LATER 120 OVER 90 STILL. NEXT MORNING AT THE DR OFFICE-132 OVER 88. AFTER SCHOOL AT THE DR OFFICE - A NORMAL READING. SHOULD HE GET THE LAST ONE THE DR SAID TO OR FORGET IT SINCE NORMAL NOW.

Mostly this is something that is due to inheritance and then to our lifestyle and eating habits that are in our control. So get into the habit of exercise every day, like walking or ride a bike. And eat healthy too. This will do a lot to help. The other big factor is stress. Take things in stride. Live for the moment. Have fun, fun, fun. Stay nice and be happy. It does work. And don't ever worry, like worry about blood pressure. Let the doctors do what they do, and you do what you do.
Thinking about sex all of the time can do that to you.

Those thoughts, of course, don't stop until you're dead.
Reduce caffeine.
Eat right.
Get exercise.
Take bp after at rest.

It shouldn't be a concern as long as the top number is below 130. If it stays above 130 all the time. You might be early stages of per-hypertension
They are more agressive and they are the one who eats a lot.
The answer above isn't really correct. The top number (systolic pressure) shouldn't be above 110-120, but the greater concern is the bottom number (diastolic pressure). The diastolic pressure is significant because this is the least amount of pressure pushing against your vessel walls at any given time (because diastole is defined as the period of time when the left ventricle is relaxed). An ideal blood pressure is currently defined as 110/70 or 120/80, depending on the source you use. These numbers are not arbitrary, they indicate the height of a collumn of Mercury (a heavy metal that is liquid at room temperature) needed to occlude (or close) a vessel. The number is greater on top because systolic pressure is the pressure of blood durring which time the heart is pumping, so you have a surge of blood which increases the pressure in the arteries after the heart. Hypertension (high blood pressure) is defined as an extended period of time during which the diastolic pressure (bottom number) is elevated above 90 mmHg. In most cases, it's not known what causes the elevated pressure (when a cause is not known, it's called Primary Hypertension). However, being overweight, out of shape, or having high stress can lead to high blood pressure. You should drop excess weight, eat less salt and caffeine, and get sleep. Puberty can sometimes cause hypertension because of elevated levels of steriod hormones (like testosterone). If this continues for a long period of time, you should talk to your doctor. If left untreated, hypertension can lead to decreased elasticity of vessels, called arteriosclerosis.
