Is palpitation dangerous? can it arise from stress or high blood pressure?

there are many reasons for palpitations. some dangerous, some not. the only way to know for sure is to be monitored on a heart moniter, either at MD's office, hospital, or one you can do at home called a halter monitor. People should note how they feel while having them:if short of breathe, feeling faint, chest pain, dizzy, then they might be something the doc wants to treat. But sometimes, even if you feel your heart doing 'flip flops' but no other symptoms, you still might NOT need treatment. The only way to know, is to be evaluated by a doc. being aware of palpitations is not the only factor docs use to treat. sometimes being aware of them, is the only problem, (know what I mean?)

It depends on what else might be happening at that time. Stress is a primary cause and so is Hypertension, but the problem is that stress also can raise your pressure, so you can't always go by that. If you also are experiencing Hyperventilation(fast breathing), tingling or shaking in your fingers and/or toes, feeling the walls closing in around you. Any or all of those things along with the palpitations is most likely stress related. Also look at your life, if you are under a lot of stress then an anxiety attack is more likely. When in doubt call your doctor and tell him/her what is going on and let them give you their interpretation.
no high heart rate does not mean high blood pressure for example heart rate 130 , BP:9-6 possible and we can give many examples. It can be psychologically.
