Is lifting weights good for someone trying to control his high blood pressure? Whats lifting weights have to do with high blood pressure? But No! It would be okay if you also do aerobic activity such as jogging. Just start slow and don't try to lift a ton, which could do more harm than good. Don't over exert yourself... Light/medium weights and some good cardio... Go to your local gym and get a PT to write up a program. Oh and diet is pretty important. lifting weights-- actually benefits your health it increases circulation, promotes heart health, and can actually LOWER blood pressure...plus it makes you have a better physique--and supports fat loss--since more muscle burns more calories lift on! It could be good for you, but dont over do it. try to focus on hearth-strengthening (aerobic) activities to reduce high blood pressure. i wouldn't start out with the weights,but exercise is good for lowering blood pressure as well as a healthy diet.before you start this though, go and see your doctor and he can give you a more acurate regimin.
