Caution is advised wtih taking green tea in large quantities if you have high blood pressure. The caffeine in the green tea could make your blood pressure worse. It does not interact with and high blood pressure medications, it just raises your blood pressure. If you limit yourself to 1-2 cups a day, probably not a problem. If you use it topically for like a sunburn, it will also not cause a problem. Hope this helps. Source(s): epocrates
