OK, I take about 5 or 6 medicines a day, for high blood pressure, anxiety attacks, please read on? |
panic attacks, fast heart beats, for my stomach and for depression. I take Toprol XL, Tiazac 420, lansoprazole 30 mg, Effexor XR 75, Avalide 150/12.5 and Xanax 0.5mg. Now my question is, I have been to my main Doctor, and he has referred me to gastroenterologist, to heart specialist, to every Doctor he can think of. To this day, I still am not feeling up to part. Any suggestions on maybe getting rid of some of these medicines and going herbal or something. I am really sick and tired of taking all these medicines and still not feeling well. Can someone please give me an honest answer on what else to do. I am depressed most times, I really do not like to go out of the house, unless I have to. My friends are used to this and come and visit me. So does my family, but there surely has to be something else that I can do. Please only answers that will help me. And no Iam not crazy, I am very intelligent and very friendly most of the time(the friendly part) Sounds like you need a good, healthy diet and a little tuning up. Lose weight if you are overweight. Keep up or even increase the exercise. Increase the vegetable intake, especially antioxidants. Add some tomatoes and olive oil to your daily routine for the BP. Avoid, at all costs, junk food. Stick with fresh vegetables and whole grains. For panic attacks/depression, add omega 3 (fish oil) and 5-HTP (a precursor to seratonin... a neurotransmitter that helps the brain) to your daily routine. Cut back, or cut out the meat and dairy products. Eat to live, don't live to eat. Work toward getting off the drugs and on to some supplements. Don't trust doctors... I found out the hard way that they don't know how to heal, they just throw prescriptions at you hoping you'll pay your bill and go away. Go to my diabetes info webpage and explore the links I provide. http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/type... Now, as far as the psychological aspect is concerned, you need to become a master of cognitive therapy as I have. This will help you overcome adverse circumstances of all sorts including your panic attacks (which is what's causing the fast heartbeats etc.) Read my "Antidepressant That Works" page and explore the links I provide there. You will learn a whole new way of thinking that will open up all kinds of good feelings for you. This is yet another tried and true method. It got me out of suicidal depression. The only medication I take today is a little bit of Metformin for the diabetes. I am so much happier and healthier today than I was just two years ago (I almost died), that I can't begin to tell you. I'm not going to blow smoke up your dress, this is hard work. It's going to take some patience, diligence, and time. But the benefit of feeling really good and getting off the pharmaceuticals, will more than make up for the weeks of effort. Here's the link: http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/anti... Most of all, learn as much as you can about alternative healing. You can't know too much about this stuff. Here's a couple of good places to start: http://www.drmcdougall.com http://www.phifoundation.org Source(s): BTDT, made a webpage about it. Hope you take it seriously... it made a believer out of me. Life is better than ever now that I've awakened and am taking proper care of myself. I think you should go out more, not on your own but as part of a group. Your friends & family sound great! I don't think people with such conditions can avoid medication, alternative drugs don't really work, although you can try it along with your medication & see if you feel any different. All the best :) Hello, I used to suffer from anxiety attacks and one of the tactics I used to help myself is, whenever I felt myself beginning to panic I noticed I was closing in on myself, tightening up into a dark place so I tried doing the opposite, in stead of closing in I would imagine myself opening up like a flower in the sun and just let yourself be. It is a wonderful feeling of freedom. I hope this helps you. Also there are a lot of self help books out there, start reading. (have you been checked for an MVP or a heart murmur? these can make your heart race also.) You need to get to a competent psychiatrist to manage your medications. It is crystal clear that you are very depressed, and that can make you feel unwell. If you find a psychiatrist affiliated with a teaching hospital who publishes research every year, that is your best bet. Been there. well. I am sorry that you have to take those medicine. I can image and understand that you must feel very low and unhappy. that's why I am writing to you now and I will share my true answer. On other hand, if it sound bit weird, and I don't expect you believe it right the way. However, maybe someday you will. First of all, I work in the health field and one of my family member is a Chinese Medicine doctor. I am saying this because I want you to know I have some background in medicine. I am not a doctor, but i do interact with dr. In Buddhism, we believe in Karma. You don't need to be a Buddhist to do the following things. The reason of sick very often general is possiblely: in your previous or this current life, you have done a lot of "bad deed" related to killing (animals). for example like fishing or hunting or buy "food" that is still alive (like live crabs, or shrimps) I know everyone still eat meat and why they didn't get it. well, In Buddhism, we believe that the animals will directly remember you (afterall, you the one "they" see that cause them to die) what you can do about it? release live= okay, let me teach you how to do it. go to any store that sale live animal/bait , the best like, seafood store or the bait shop (the pet store is not as good because those fish are human "feed" "created" and they are going to die if you let them go and also that will more likely cause ecological inbalance) so you go to bait shop or seafood store, then you buy some shrimp, fish, whatever that is alive and can still alive. (you might need a container with a airpump to keep them alive) then you find where they came from (it is important to make sure they are salt water or fresh water because if you put a fresh water fish back to the salt water then you just kill the fish) the karma of this is you will get healthier. I can guarantee you but it is going to take time. and if you don't have a lot of money then start with small amount. you can buy worm (beside it is local , not from canada because they can die in the heat) the reason we do release live in Buddhism is" 1. we feel compassion for those "animal" and we want to help them and give them another chance. 2. to practice increase our compassion. you can also try to be a vegetarian, if you can not do it all the time. maybe few days of week or few months. you can donate money to print promoting vegetarian books or release live. you can also donate your money to the free clinic, and redcross. because it's karma. honestly, we shouldn't do all that for good karma to come back because we should do it because we have compassion that all animal suffer the same as we do. if we can feel the pain, then they feel it too. I also changed the shop often because I don't want to abused the idea. the idea of release lives is to save some of those animal. it is not possible right the way to stop them for sale bait or live crabs. and we never order them early because that is missing the purpose of saving them. I hope this will help you. I have heard many example that it works. that some people have cancer and almost die but doing this save their live. I personally experience after I start doing it, my health become better. however, when you doing it, you shouldn't expect "reward" all the time and so "focus" on the reward. the karma will come no matter what. just remember "compassion" if you have any more question, you can email me. chengooch@yahoo.com I will be very happy to expalin to you more. take care. |
