How many bottles of beer can you drink if you have high blood pressure? It does not correlate in that fashion. ask your doctor. Give it up. my friend died from a heart attack at 40 from drinking to much with high blood pressure. how about no beer? honestly, i don't know. No bottles of beer suggested. Can lead to heart attack--- If you have to drink drink red wine. Beer is made of yeast and salt those are the two things a person with HBP should not have in any amount. Your heart condition is nothing to play around with. high blood pressure is a risk factor for myocaridial infarction, stroke, and kidney failure. alcohol is not a major killer of these organs but it is against liver. very small amount of alcohol (wine) has been said to be protective against mycardial infarction but this is just for those with no comorbid conditions like hypertension. even in the former case this is controversial. you need to save your liver just in case you encounter a problem with your other organs as a consequence of hypertension. so, i can conclude that small amount of alcohol might have no additional side effect to your hypertension. but you'd better stop it just because you don't want to see terrible effect of alcohol on your liver. if you are a moderate to heavy drinker you would give it up or go down to minimal consumption then. i hope this help i am a MD |
