No, it is not recommended. If your blood pressure is on the high side, then you should not go into a hot tub. It may get worse and cause a heart attack.
Yes, as long as your doctor says it's ok. Warmth helps the blood vessels dilate, so it may actually lower your pressure a little bit; certainly the relaxation won't do any harm :-)
Well, first off, hot tubs are a no-no. The water usually has lots of chemicals and bad stuff. IDK about the ihss or high blood pressure; but when in doubt, don't get into the hot tub!
NO! Ask you Dr. and he will tell you the same thing. It increases the blood flow and therefore increases your BP. My husband has high blood pressure and that's what his Dr. told him.
When you have high blood pressure you have to limit your exposure to both.
I have HBP and I do use both, but if I stay too long I will get dizzy and feel like I am going to pass out. But short periods of times is OK, just be careful. In fact you should be careful about over heating in any situation, such as sun bathing etc.
This is not a good idea, particularly with ihss because the hot water causes vasodilation which reduces the preload, that is the amount of blood return to your heart. This could cause fainting in an ihss person, and you really would not want to faint into the water!!!!!! The same goes for people on medications for high blood pressure. The vasodilation from the heat could cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, and if you are on blood pressure medicine, then your body might not compensate for the low blood pressure (the medicine blocks the compensatory response) so again, you might faint!!!!! Again, fainting and falling under the water while you are unconscious could drown you. I guess going in part way or with a buddy might be possible but also getting out of the tub, and getting faint when you stand up to get out could be dangerous.
