Do you pass out for a brief period of time because of high blood pressure?

Do you pass out for a brief period of time because of high blood pressure?

it can, but that is a near death emergency, and probably represents a small (or large, if in a "less" important area of the brain) stroke. This is often called the sentinal bleeding event, and the second bleed is often a complete disaster

Loss of consciencness (other than sleep..) is a medical emergency in any situation. Source(s): am a surgeon
No. High blood pressure or hypertension is called the "silent killer" because there are no symptoms. Hpyertension is usually found incidentally during routine medical exams. You are not considered hypertensive unless you have 2 or more high readings on two separate occasions in a clinical setting. If you are passing out, it is most likely caused by other medical problem.
