Is it safe to extract 3 teeth in a day for someone with high blood pressure and currently on medication.? If your blood pressure is adequately controlled by your medication, it is the same for you as anyone without high blood pressure. Discuss this with your dentist, though. If the teeth are next-door neighbors, he/she will probably be using sutures anyway. Your dentist would like to "observe" you for a few minutes to see how well the bleeding is being controlled. It may be neccesary to use some stuff to help you clot better, such as Surgicel. I had all my uppers pulled at the same time with high blood pressure and no medication. No problems with it. Your dentist will know for sure. It doesn't sound safe especially if you do have very high blood pressure. He/She will likely recommend coming back at different times to complet the extractions but if your in great pain he/she may want to do it all at once but keep you for a while to monitor you. I have high blood pressure (180/100). My oral surgeon took out all 4 of my wisdom teeth at once. Consult your doctor though. Always consult a medical professional. Don't rely upon the opinions you receive here. It's not the safest but it can be done. As long as your blood pressure is low at the time of appt, it can be done. Be sure to discuss this with your dentist so that he uses the correct local anesthetic that won't inferfere with your medication. Dental office manager 2 years, dental assistant 1 year |
