I went to the doctor today because of a bad chest cold.. The doctor told me I have high blood pressure which I |
have been told before.. Then the nurse listened to my heart for about 10 mins in all different places and told me I might have a heart murmur. My first question is what is high blood pressure? and how serious is it? I am 19 years old, I am not over weight, I do not eat fried fatty foods, I eat very healthy for the most part, and I dont smoke. The only reason I can think maybe I have it because my dad does my aunt does and both of my grandparents do.also because I dont work out, But arent I kind of young to have high blood pressure? I never even really thoguht anything of it when they have told me in the past but is it sometihng bad? I have never told my parents because my dad is like a health freak and will tell me I need to work out all the time, then contiounsly be on my case about working out.The heart murmur thing sounded scary though I dont even know what it is, can something cause you to have a heart murmur? I have been taking these energy pills , could they have caused it? Anyone has higher blood pressure when they are sick. If they think you have a heart murmer , you need to have it checked after you get over the cold. You may be an excitable person, or high strung. Serious..yes.....pills causing..most likely....results can be a heart attack....and death....you should have told your doctor what your taking......because any precriptions you take could cause a problem. Energy pills could have definitely raised your blood pressure. Also having a bad cold will do it, you're working harder to breathe, coughing, etc. A heart murmur just means some of the blood doesn't totally empty out of one of the chambers of your heart.
